Established in 2002, SS Animent is an animation company expanding the Korean animation market and developing a new business model through overseas animation distribution and character licensing, as well as animations & webtoon projects and investment.
In 2020, we produced a feature animation called Tales of the Unusual: Beauty Water rated PG-13 based on a Korean webtoon. It was released simultaneously in Taiwan, Singapore, etc., and invited to film festivals in 23 countries, including Annecy International Animation Film Festival, Sitges Film Festival, New York Asian Film Festival, etc.
Notably, we won “Best Animated Feature” at Boston Sci-fi Film Festival in February, 2021 and was recognized for its cinematic quality.
In addition, the 3D animation Ceratops Koriyo, co-produced with a local government, has established itself as a symbol of Hwaseong City and has grown into a long-loved local character. As an overseas co-production, we participated in the 1st and 2nd production committees of Shugo Chara based on an original Japanese manga from Kodansha, secured global rights, and achieved the best character sales in the history of animations for girls in Korea.
We have managed Case Closed since 2003 and provided IPTV and OTT platforms with about 2,000 episodes of Sugar Sugar Rune, Tokyo Mew Mew, The Rose of Versaille, etc.
By developing original IPs such as webtoons and animations, we will challenge the development of various genres and age groups beyond the limits of domestic animations targeting children while actively seeking overseas co-production to focus on globalizing Korean animations.
